Lee Roy Selmon's existence is a combination of football scholarships, family involvement and involvement in the community. Selmon is the youngest of children of Lucious Selmon, and Jessie Selmon, who had him raised on the farm they owned in Eufala. Two football. He is one of three brothers who participated in the football team of Oklahoma. All three became All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy received the Outland and Lombardi Awards for being the best lineman of the United States. He won two championships and 31-1-1 during his three years as Oklahoma's main man. In 1975, he was awarded the third scholarship of his career and was named an National Football Foundation scholar-athlete. Selmon received his bachelor's master's degree in educational studies. Lee Roy was involved in volunteer work ten hour per week throughout his college years. After graduation, he landed in Tampa played nine years with the Buccaneers was an all-pro three times before beginning a business career. He was hired in 1988 as an Account Relations officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also involved with these groups: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982 The Junior Chamber of Commerce recognized Lee Roy as being among 10 of America's most outstanding young men. As a student, Lee Roy was 6-2 and weighs a little over 256 lbs. He captained his college team in the year 1975. In 1993, he became the as associate director at the University of South Florida. He was named associate director of athletics by the College Football Hall of Fame was named for his on the 28th of October, 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. In 1989 the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded its Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Jr. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma presented the award.
