Maria Brink

 Maria Brink, born December 18 1977 is an American singer-songwriter from the United States. She is best known as the frontwoman of In This Moment. The group has released seven albums, was nominated for four awards, including two from Alternative Press Music Awards and one from Grammy Awards. Brink is also acknowledged as the "Rock Goddess of the Year", "Hottest Female in Metal" in 2010 and one of 11 women in heavy metal according to Yell! Revolver Magazine recognized Brink as one of the top 25 Hot Chicks in Hard Rock & Metal in 2012 and Pulse in Albany, New York. In 2002, when she was 25, she moved to Los Angeles to find a band . Before making a decision to join a band, she worked in shops, as well as in coffee shops and bars. She was introduced to Chris Howorth, now a part of the group, at an audition in 2004. Howorth initially turned down Brink because she was female. Howorth apologized after two weeks and then hired Brink as the singer. They were formed Dying Star together with Jeff Fabb, drummer. Later, Blake Bunzel, guitarist and Josh Newell, bassist joined the group. The band changed their name to In This Moment
